Matt Emmett

Matt Emmett has been photographing Europe's forgotten ruins and industrial remnants since 2012. What started as a chance encounter with a jet engine testing establishment has grown into an obsession that has resulted in over 150 fascinating locations being documented. His work benefits from the use of technology that helps him overcome the limitations inherent in modern cameras and to create compositions not possible without such interventions.

Perfection/ Imperfection

I can see the sense of forgotten ruins in some of your pictures, but not in the kaleidoscopic ones. Geometry is something I've always associated to perfection; and ruins to imperfection. Anyway, I like the classical touch that permeates all your work.

Symmetric architecture

I find your work a form of hypnosis. You use geometric forms to expose optical or spatial contexts. Interesting depiction of abandoned spaces.
