Gagosian Gallery Currin Up Close
Gagosian Gallery’s application for iPad has been released to ‘take users on an in-depth journey with Gagosian artists and exhibitions’.
To keep the content relevant to the gallery’s exhibition programme, it will be updated four times a year. The launch edition includes highlights on John Chamberlain, John Currin, Vera Lutter, Kazimir Malevich, Pablo Picasso, Robert Rauschenberg, Richard Prince, and Rudolf Stingel. X
The focus is on giving access to both incredibly detailed views of the works as well as multimedia material for additional study. Fans of Picasso’s etchings of his muse, Marie-Thérèse Walter (at Gagosian New York, until 15 July), can watch a video with the curator and art historian, John Richardson. Similarly, John Currin’s portraits in gigapixel version come with a current interview with the artist.Worth noting is also availability of the additional content such as an archival footage of Rauschenberg’s 1966 performance, Open Score.
